On Sunday the 31st, I will be giving a 1-2 min talk about my trip in front of all three services and be prayed over by the pastor and the congregation. Awesome.

What time is it?

I've added a feature to my site that has California time and Dumaguete time on it. It is located near the top right of my page. This way you will all know what the current time it is for me!

One Week!

Exactly one week from right now I will be on an airplane!
This next week will be full of getting everything packed, collecting donations, and saying goodbye.

I have been so blessed with the preparation of this trip. Continued thanks for all of those who have been supporting me through prayer, donations, and excitement for my trip.

PRAYER REQUESTS
-Safe Travel
I'll be changing airplanes 3 times and will have a two and a half hour layover, and an eight hour layover.
I'll have two suitcases full of donations with my own personal stuff mixed in. Pray that it meets all of the requirements and that i don't have to pay for extra baggage weight.
Pray that I make it through immigration and get to the domestic airport from the international airport safely. I land at 11pm in Manila and will have to travel around that time by taxi to the other airport.

Questions Answered

Several people have been asking me about some stuff so I figured I'd post it just in case others have the same questions as well.

I'm not sure what my address will be, as soon as I know I'll post it on here. I know that there is an address on the website for a PO Box, but I'm not sure if there is another one that they would prefer to have things sent to.

For funding I will need to raise at least $200-$300 a month to cover the costs for rent ($150/month), food (varies), insurance ($350/6 months), water ($10/ month), immigration ($350), electricity ($25/month), and transportation (varies). I already have airfare taken care of, so really I need around $1,000-$1,500. If there are extra funds left over at the end of my trip, I will donate all of the money to the orphanage. They are working on updating the building and putting in new cabinets, new air conditioning units, and repainting the roofs. Each of these projects can also be found on the website if you would like a little more information.

If you have any other questions, please let me know!

I have a little less than two weeks before take-off and I am getting really excited and starting to pack up some of my things. I went to an Asian marketplace with one of my friends the other day and i learned a lot by going to a grocery store. We walked through the store and my friend pointed out different foods that were good to eat and ones that were not too tasty. It will be fun to walk through the market and know what to get!

As time gets closer, I will be updating more about what is going on. Thank you for all of your questions, ideas, and support!

love love,
amanda
